FAQ’S

“Do you do cover ups or fix ups?”

Yes, but I only take on cover up/fix up projects that I feel confident in doing well. Cover ups are on a case-by-case basis and require flexibility in the design, style, size and approach. Cover ups also generally require at least a second session, depending on the tattoo. Cover ups are Full price unless otherwise mentioned.

“What tattoo styles do you specialize in?”

My main focus is Neo-traditional or Neo-realism. I use black lines with smooth black and grey, stipple (dots), and color shading styles. I can also mix these shading styles together. Unless I’m doing a more illustrative tattoo, my intention is to create a realistic feel while still having some hard lines and heavy tones.

“Are there any styles you don’t tattoo?”

Yes, I don’t tattoo photo realism, single needle/fineline, watercolor, Traditional Japanese/American, large geometric work, or script. I also don’t reproduce logos or directly copy other artists/designs. Though, occasionally certain exceptions can be made to some extent. I can usually refer you to someone who excels in most of these styles

“What imagery do you prefer to use in your tattoo work?”

I usually lean towards tattooing faces/shoulders/hands of women, animals and reapers. I also really enjoy skulls, birds, flowers/foliage, and insects.

“Why do I need more than one session for this tattoo?”

Well done artwork takes time. I MOSTLY do somewhat large tattoos. I also only work up to 4 hours on one tattoo. Clients and myself tend to start feeling pretty burnt out after that.

Sizes, color choices, body locations, skin types and other details about specific tattoos differ from person to person. So ‘the same tattoo’ on different people can differ in the amount of time needed to complete it. Also, (full) color can take more time, so color may require it’s own session in certain situations.

“How can I be notified about special rates/offers, cancellations, availability or any other important information?”

Go to my MAILING LIST and subscribe. You will only ever receive notifications about the above information. No spamming, no pointless posts, no questions or surveys or anything like that. The only requirement will be to send me an email to take advantage of any offer or cancellation that becomes available. First come, first served. That’s it!

“What can I do to prepare for my tattoo?”

LOTION. Leading up to the day of your session (not on the day of your session) feel free to lotion/hydrate your skin on the area(s) you’re getting tattooed. Better skin means a better/easier tattoo. Hydrating in general will improve your healing.

SUN. Limit your exposure to it. Dark, tan, sunburnt, and dry skin create problems. Not being able to see the true colors of a design, bleeding, fatigue, fast fading and scabbing are all common problems associated with too much Sun before (or in the first 2 week following) a tattoo.

FOOD/ALCOHOL. Once again, better health means a better heal. So the better you take care of yourself, the better your tattoo will look and last. Make sure to eat a decent meal shortly before your session and feel free to bring a snack/water etc.. Drugs/Alcohol will do nothing positive for your tattoo session, so try to limit consumption, especially the night before your session.
